Resources

To impart transformative learning and lasting insights in my lectures and training workshops, I introduce the audience to selected theories and contexts relevant to the topic or challenge at hand and use a wide variety of methodologies, tools and techniques.

Amongst various resources, I often use learning techniques such as mind maps, case studies, role plays and simulation exercises.

World Cafe

One of the methods used in my workshops is the World Cafe, a powerful methodology and process for leading collaborative dialogue and knowledge-sharing, particularly for medium (10 to 25 people) and larger groups (25 upwards).

Mind map

Mapping ideas on paper is a creative way to organise our thinking and has proved to improve learning and increase creativity. Participants are explained how a mind map is created and then are asked to create their own using a specific topic.

Case study

A case study is a detailed and systematic analysis of an individual, group or a situation to develop a more in-depth insight of the phenomenon.

The purpose of the case method is to make participants apply what they know and develop new ideas to approach a situation. This method enables development of several soft skills mainly interpersonal, analytical, team building and communication skills.

Implicit test

Harvard Implicit test have been created by Project Implicit Organisation with an aim to educate the public about hidden biases and to provide a “virtual laboratory” for collecting data on the Internet.

I have found it to be very useful and introspective during both my lectures and workshops on 'diversity management' and 'inclusion and diversity' in order to understand implicit bias.

Role- play

A fun educational technique used to enable participants act out certain roles by interacting with others, to develop and analyse strategies by observing others. It is very important to create a supportive environment for the participants to feel at ease and immerse in their roles.

Simulation exercise

A learning activity designed to reflect a real situation. An environment is created as per the needs of the course content to enable the participants to get a real feel of the situation and facilitate them to apply alternate strategies.
